ولأن الشائع من مرويات أحداث عصر الخلفاء الراشدين ورد إلينا في كتب التاريخ , وربما يعود ذلك إلى تخصصها واعتمادها " أسلوب القصة " ولتواليها على ترتيب السنين في الغالب , بينما نجد تلك المرويات مفرقة في كتب الحديث النبوي وطبقات الرواه وتراجمهم وغيرها , لأن غاية إيرادها إنما هو الأستشهاد بها على حكم أو التعرف من خلالها على فضيلة , نعم هناك كتب المغازي والسير في مؤلفات الحديث النبوي , ولكنها لا تعتمد التسلسل الزمني ولا أسلوب الإخباري من حيث الغرابة والتشويق وذكر دقائق تفاصيل الحدث .
