ولدت كاملة شمسي بباكستان عام 1973 وتعيش في لندن.
مؤلفة رواياتي « In the City by the Sea » » في المدينة بجوار البحر« و «Kartography» وقد اختيرا ضمن القائمة القصيرة لجائزة «John Llewellyn Rhys».
وأيضا روايتي »الملح والزعفران« و »أشعار متكسرة« « Broken Verses».
حصلت كاملة على جائزة رئيس الوزراء للأدب عام 1999 وعلى جائزة «Patras Bokhari» في عام 2004 اللتان تمنحهما أكادمية باكستان للأدب.
صدرت لها باللغة العربية رواية "الظلال المحترقة", وبيع منها أكثر من 20 مليون نسخة حول العالم.
