وكلما قرأـ قصيدة بعد أخرى تحار أيهما الأحسن فتظهر لك القدرة الشاعرية حيث أن الأوزان طيعة.
والنفس الملحمي يعبق بثنايا العبارات فحيث طوفت من الوطنيات إلى الغزل إلى القوميات، أما أن تتذكر المتنبي في الأولى أو جميل بثينة أو عمر ابن أبي ربيعة في الثانية، وتلمح في بعضها روح وجمالية الأندلسيات.
وما يلفتك إليه في هذه القصائد تلك الوطنية الصافية والعروبة النقية وما يعتري الشاعر من يأس وحزن وأسى من الحالة العربية عامة ولا ينقطع به الأمل وإنما يبقى له شعاع تلحظه في قصيدته.
