قضية هذا الكتاب هي قضية كل إنسان يهودي أو مسيحي أو مسلم... بل كل إنسان مؤمن إيمانًا طبيعيًا أو عقليًا ويطرح كتاب الدين والسلام من منظور الإيمان الأخلاقي نقد للاهوت العقلي واللاهوت التاريخي فالأول يؤدي بنا إلى حروب جدلية والآخر يغرقنا في حروب دموية. ويبقى مصير السلام معلقًا بالإيمان الأخلاقي والأخلاقية هي الجوهر الحقيقي للنصوص السماوية فإن لم يكن النص أخلاقيًا صريحًا وجب تأويله أخلاقيًا فالعلاقة بين الدين والأخلاق والسلام علاقة تلازم ضروري حيث تتبدى هذه العلاقة في مستويات السلام مع النفس، السلام مع الآخر.. سلام الجنس البشري.
