من المعلوم عند القاصي والداني أن المسلمين قضوا شوطاً كبيراً من فترة البعثة النبوية وهم يعانون أشد المعاناة من اضطهاد قريش والقبائل المشركة. حتى جاءت الهجرة إلى المدينة المنورة وجاءت معها فريضة الجهاد والذي من خلالها يرفع الله عن المؤمنين الظلم الذي وقع عليهم طوال السنين السابقة.
الجهاد هو ذروة الإسلام وسنامه، أعز الله الإسلام والمسلمين، هم بخير ما حافظوا على هذه الفريضة وفي ذل وانكسار ما فرطوا فيها.
وعلى مدار التاريخ الإسلامي الطويل اهتم العلماء المسلمون بالتأصيل لموضوع الجهاد، فما نجد كتاباً من السنة أو الفقه أو التاريخ والسير إلا وأفردوا لهذا الموضوع كتباً أو أبواباً خاصة.
وفي زماننا هذا الذي نعيشه اختلطت كثير من المفاهيم فيما بينها، سهواً أو عمداً، وحرفت كذلك الكثير من المفاهيم، ومن ضمنها مفهوم الإرهاب.
لهذا أحببت أن أكتب في هذا الموضوع (الجهاد والإرهاب والفرق بينهما)، وقد قمت بتقسيم هذه الدراسة إلى مباحث ثلاثة:
المبحث الأول: حقيقة الجهاد والإرهاب.
المبحث الثاني: حكم الجهاد، والحكمة من مشروعيته، وأنواعه.
المبحث الثالث: أنواع الإرهاب، وأهدافه، وعناصره.
