بيد يدي القارئ العربي مجموعة من المحاضرات ألقاها المؤلف مرتضى مطهر مستمعيه في أواسط عام 1972، وهي محاضرات مهمة تناولت بل أخذت على عاتقها الإجابة علة مجموعة من التساؤلات التي يوجهها المسلم إلى نفسه، أو يوجهها إليه الآخرون. وهي تنقسم إلى قسمين، القسم الأول تكفل بمناقشة موضوع الهدف في الحياة وما فيه من تفرعات تناولها الشهيد على شكل العناوين التالية: هدف الخلقة وبعثة الأنبياء حيث بحث من خلالها وناقش النظريات المتعددة حول هذا الموضوع عارضاُ في نهاية الأمر النظرية الإسلامية بهذا الخصوص. جذور الأخلاق الفردية والاجتماعية. وقد استعرض فيها النظريات المتعددة حول نشوء الأخلاق. العقيدة.. والرؤية الكونية. الإيمان وكمال الإنسان، وهو بحث ممتع وعميق، حيث يتعرض الشهيد إلى بيان معنى الكمال ومناقشة النظريات المتعددة بهذا المجال. دراسة النظريات المختلفة عن كمال الإنسان على ضوء النظرية الإسلامية وهي آخر القسم الأول. أما القسم الثاني فهو مخصص لدراسة التكامل الإنساني، حيث استعرض في المحاضرة الأولى مفهوم التكامل. وفي المحاضرة الثانية تعرض إلى دراسة مستقبل البشرية على ضوء النظريات المختلفة. وفي نهاية كلا القسمين توجد مجموعة من الأسئلة وجهها المستمعون لمحاضراته فأجاب عليها بصورة مختصر. وهي مثبتة في نهاية كل قسم. وغني عن القول ما لهذه المحاضرات من أهمية كبيرة في إغناء الثقافة الإسلامية، لما احتوته من عمق وجدة، عمق في التناول والتشخيص، وجدة في العرض والأسلوب والمعالجة.
