لا قيمة لحياة بلا إدراك , لا قيمة لحياة بلا هدف لا قيمة لحياة بلا وعي , بطل هذه الرواية شاب مصري يشبه كل شباب مصر , عاش حياة عادية لم يكن بيده رفاهية اختيار أي شيء في حياته , وعندما سيُطلب منه أن يختار, سيجد نفسه وسيعرف هدفه من هذه الحياة .
التميز بين الأخوة ينتهي بموت الآباء ولكن يبقي دائماً ذلك الإحساس الموجع الذي يخلف هناك جراح تنزف بالحقد والغل وشهوة العدالة والمساواة ولا علاج لها بعد فوات الأوان .
خطيئة الآباء الكبرى تكمن في عملية تقييم الأبناء فكلنا نري أبنائنا ملائكة وعباقرة وننسي بأنهم في النهاية بشر كسالي وأغبياء في كثير من الأحيان .
في هذه الرواية بعض الحوادث حقيقية كاحتراق البالون في الأقصر ولكن المعالجة الروائية لهذه الحادثة مختلفة كثيراً عن الواقع وهذه الرواية تخليداً لهذه الذكري .
هذه الرواية تجسيد لهذه المشاعر والأحداث
