لما كان هذا الكتاب يعرض للسيرة النبوية والخلفاء الراشدين، فقد حرصت أن أتوقف عند كل قضية تحتاج مناقشة، فنحن نعلم أن أعداء الإسلام بعد أن وجدوا أنفسهم لم ينالوا من الإسلام رغم نجاحهم في قتل الخليفة الثاني عمر بن الخطاب، ثم من بعده عثمان بن عفان – رضي الله تعالى عنه – رأوا أن يوجهوا حربتهم إلى الصف الإسلامي حتى استطاعوا أن يقسموا المسلمين إلى معسكرين، ولم يكن انقسام المسلمين إلى معسكرين أيام الفتنة الكبرى لتناقض المصالح بين معسكرين، أو لصراع على السلطة، لأنه كان على رأس كل من المعسكرين عدد من العشرة المبشرين بالجنة، الذين مات رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو عنهم راض، وإنما كان بفعل حاقد خسيس وصدق الله العظيم: { ولا يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّى يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إنِ اسْتَطَاعُوا ومَن يَرْتَدِدْ مِنكُمْ عَن دِينِهِ فَيَمُتْ وهُوَكَافِرٌ فَأُوْلَئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا والآخِرَةِ وأُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ }.
وأخيرا، فإن هذا الكتاب إذا كان يتعرض لتاريخ أربعة فقط من الخلفاء الراشدين هم: أبي بكر وعمر وعثمان وعلي – رضي الله عنهم جميعا – أما الخليفة معاوية بن أبي سفيان، والذي هو خامس الخلفاء الراشدين، إلا أن تحول نظام الحكم بعده إلى ملك وراثي، جعل المؤرخين يضعونه على رأس دولة جديدة، هي الدولة الأموية.
