تتحدث رواية "الأروقة السوداء" عن عائلة تقرر العزلة في منزل محاط بالحجب السوداء، ويحدث ذلك تدريجيا، بدءا من طفلهم الصغير بدر المصاب بداء أطفال القمر، ثم تجد الأم سببا لكل فرد لإبقائه في ذلك المنزل المعزول عن محيطه، غير أن اختفاء الأب، وتمرد أحد الأبناء يفضح الكثير.
