شرح مبسوط دیدگاه اسلام در باره سایر ادیان و نحوه انعكاس اعتقادات آنها در قرآن كریم است. نویسنده در آغاز ماهیت دین را بررسی كرده و ضمن ارائه تعریف دقیقی از آن، نیاز ذاتی بشری را به ادیان آسمانی و فطری بودن گرایش به دینداری در انسان را به اثبات میرساند. سپس ادیان و نحلههایی مانند یهودیت، مسیحیت، آیین زرتشت و نیز باورهای صائبیان، دهریان و مشركان را با بهرهگیری از آیات قرآن كریم بررسی میكند. در پایان به صورت مفصل در مورد آیین اسلام و حقانیت آن، موضعگیری اسلام در برابر دیگر ادیان، گفت وگوی مسلمانان با غیر مسلمانان و برخی از اصول و قواعد فكری اسلام بحث مینماید. روش نویسنده بدین صورت است كه نخست، آیات مربوط به موضوع مورد بحث را ذكر كرده و سپس با نقل آرای مفسران مختلف، به تجزیه و تحلیل آنها پرداخته است.
