نهاد شريف (1932 - 4 يناير 2011)، روائي مصري. ولد في حي محرم بك بالأسكندرية، تخرج في كلية الآداب قسم التاريخ بدأ نشاطه الأدبي بنشر روايته قاهر الزمن والتي فازت بالجائزة الأولى في نادي القصة والتي حولت فيلما قاهر الزمن (فيلم) من بطولة نور الشريف و آثار الحكيم و جميل راتب و حسين الشربيني. عمل محرراً علميًّا بمجلة "آخر ساعة" المصرية عامي 1995- 1996 ثم موجهاً ثقافيًّا فمديراً للثقافة والإرشاد بمشروع مديرية التحرير، حصل على العديد من الجوائز في القصة والرواية لمجهوده في أدب الخيال العلمي

منذ وعيت ما حوالي من مجريات الأمور وأدركت حقائق ومعضلات ربما فاقت سني .. منذ كنت صبيا يافعا .. كثير التأمل .. كثير الصمت والحياء.. سن العاشرة أو تخطيتها بعام أو اثنتين.. وأنا أعيش أيامي –حينذاك- موقنا ان عالمنا والذي يزخر بالخلق والنساء وبديع صنع العلي المقتدر.. لابد وأن له مثله من عوالم متشابهة او مختلفة تستقر بدورها على أجرام كوكبية سيارة.. هي على البعد القريب أو السحيق إنما تمثل شعلات نور من الذات الإلهية.. فتومض بالحياة شتى صور الحياة.. بطول الكون وعرضه اللانهائي.. فلما نموت وازدادت معارفي وامتد بحثي ومناقشاتي بلغ يقيني مداه.. بأن هذه العوالم – ومنها عالمنا الأرضي- لا بد وأن تشترك في وحدة مرتبة منسقة من صفات ونظم ومعالم وتكوينات وروابط ونغمات، بالغة الإحكام.. دقيقة الإيقاع.. وذات أبعاد شاعرية في نسقها الجمالي الإلهي.
