بونسون دو ترايل: روائي فرنسي، معروف بكتاباته في أدب المغامرات.
ولد ألكس بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٢٩م، بمدينة مونمارتر الفرنسية. عُرف بإنتاجه الأدبي الغزير، فقد أنتج ثلاثة وسبعين مجلدًا خلال عشرين عامًا. تنتمي أعماله الروائية المبكرة إلى الأدب القوطي، وعندما بدأ في كتابة «سلسلة روكامبول» قام بنشرها في جريدة يومية، وهي سلسلة من القصص المنتمي لأدب الغموض والمغامرة، وقد مَثلت هذه السلسلة تحوله من الأدب القوطي إلى الأدب البطولي الحداثي.
وقد توفي بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٧١م.

الخديعة: إنها الكلمة التي تحوِّل مسار الإنسانيات إلى مفاهيم لا يَعِيهَا إلا أصحاب الأقنعة الزائفة، والضمائر الواهنة التي تتزيَّا برداء المنافع. وشخصية البطل روكامبول خير شاهد على ذلك؛ فلقد انتحل شخصية «المركيز دي شمري»، ودخل في عائلة النبلاء، واختلط بالشعب الباريسي، وأراد أن يتزوج بالغادة الإسبانية ابنة هذا المركيز؛ وحينما ترامى ذلك إلى علم «باكارا» و«أرمان دي كركاز» أرادا أن يكشفا قناع الزيف عن هذا الماكر المحتال الذي اعتلى عرش النبلاء بواسطة الاحتيال والدهاء. وتكشف لنا أحداث هذه القصة عن الجهود المُضنية التي بذلتها باكارا من أجل إجلاء حقيقة هذا المخادع الذي ارتدى لباسًا من النبل الزائف، وعبث بوجدان تلك الغادة الحسناء.
