تكتنز مجموعة (اي) الشعرية لغة الحزن الشفيف عند الشاعر حسن محمد حسن الزهراني، فانسلت مرثيات في أحب الناس على قلب الشاعر وقد بدأها بقصيدة رثاء لأبيه يقول فيها:
هبطت تشيع روحك الجوزاء / فأضاء من وهج البهاء بهاءُ ، وبكى الجلال على الجلال بحرقةٍ / ومضت بنعشك قبلنا العلياءُ.
وهنا يبدو الشاعر أقرب إلى قلب المتلقي، ذلك أنه ينطلق من واقعة حقيقية هي فاجعة فقد الأب، بحيث يجعله ضمن مهيمنات الحدث، ومنه ينسل إلى أشكال أخرى للفقد والغياب. فيصوّر لنا من خلال قصيدة (الرقص على الكفن) أم على فراش الموت تحتضر في ليلة زفاف إبنتها الكبرى ... وقد ماتت الأم وحيدة ولسان حالها يقول:
طاب الغناءُ وطاب الرقصُ والسمرُ / والسعدُ من حولكم يشدو به القمرُ ، تمتعوا بنعيم زائل وأنا / في قبضة الموت والأنفاس تقتصر.
وبهذا المعنى يبدو هاجس الموت يرافق الشاعر، فإذا ما تتبعنا قصائد المجموعة نجده مرّة يرثي غازي القصيبي وأخرى نزار قباني وثالثة في رثاء عاشق الباحة/ الأستاذ إبراهيم عباس. و (دمعة قلب) في رثاء الكاتب والأديب الأستاذ/ محمد بن سعيد فيضي الغامدي ويقول فيها:
كيف مات إبن فيضي؟ / متى مات؟ / هل مات حقاً؟ ومن أخبر الموت / أن إبن فيضي عزيزٌ / علينا جميعاً؟ / وأن إبن فيضي / وإن غيب القبر جثمانه / لم تزل روحه بيننا ..." هكذا ينحت شاعرنا كلماته بحس مرهف، وعاطفة جيّاشة، مشتغلاً وفق رؤية واقعية ترى الحياة على حقيقتها وهي تنقلنا إلى نهايات مغلقة عنوانها الموت.
تضم المجموعة (اي) أربعة عشر قصيدة تتراوح بين الشعر الموزون والمقفى (التفصلية) وقيدة النقر، والشعر الحر جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "الرقص على الكفن" ، "غروب الحديقة" ، "غيمة الحزن والأمل" ، "مرثية النورس" ، "دمعة قلب" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
