"لعمري لم ألمس كفاً، وما شاهدت يوماً منك طرفاً، وما دونت شعري فيك عشقاً، ولم أسمعك قبل الموت حرفاً، ولكني حزنت على صغار، تصارع أمهم بالضعف حتفا، بكوا، واستنجدوا في جنح ليل، ولم نمدد لهم بالعون كفا، لغد نمنا، وبانوا بين رعب، وأحزان تشف القلب شف، أبا (عبد إلاله) قصمت قلبي، وكنت لفاجع الأوجاع ردفا، فعل للظالمين ومن أرادوا حديثاً، من دبيب الذر أخفى، لقد قالوا ورب البيت ظلما وبهتاناً، وتزييفاً، وقذفا، وقل للظالمين ومن أرادوا لستر المحصنات الغيد، كشفا، خسئتم يا بناة السوء إنا من الماء النقي العذب، أصفى، لقد سرنا-أمامنا- للمعالي وسرتم في دروب الجهل خلفا، فقولوا كل ما شئتم فإني، الفت خداعكم والظلم إلفا، وقولوا كل ما شئتم فإني وقفت قصائدي للحق وقفا".
