المفارقة الجماعية — لماذا يقبل المجتمع ما هو غير منطقي ويرفض ما هو منطقي؟
من بين أكثر الأسئلة التي واجهت الفيلسوف منذ بداية الفكر الإنساني سؤالٌ بسيط في صياغته، لكنه عنيف في آثاره:
لماذا تُصِرّ المجتمعات في كثير من الأحيان على تبنّي أفكارٍ ومعتقداتٍ وممارسات تتعارض مع أبسط مبادئ العقل؟
ولماذا في المقابل — رغم وضوح بعض الحجج المنطقية وبرهانيتها — يُقابَل أصحاب الرأي المنطقي بالاستهجان أو الرفض أو حتى الإقصاء؟
تبدو هذه المفارقة ظاهرة غريبة للوهلة الأولى، لكنها عند النظر العميق تصبح جزءًا بنيويًا من التاريخ الإنساني: فالمجتمعات تميل إلى خلق عالم من المسلّمات التي تمنح الأفراد شعورًا باليقين والانتماء، حتى لو كانت تلك المسلّمات متعارضة مع الحقيقة. ما يهمّ الجماعة ليس صحّة الفكرة بقدر ما يهمّها استقرارهاأ من هذه المفارقة، ويحاول أن يبني لها إطارًا فلسفيًا يسمح بفهم جذورها المعرفية والنفسية والاجتماعية. لن نكتفي بوصف الظاهرة، بل سنسأل: كيف تُصنع اللاعقلانية لتبدو عقلًا؟ وكيف تُجرَّد العقلانية من قوتها لتبدو تهديدًا؟
