هذا البحث معقود على تقويض التقريرات التي بنى عليها صاحب «الانتصار للتدمرية» مسائل كتابه، إذ ليست تلك المسائل إلا فروعا مترتبة على هذه الأصول التي قررها وزعم صحتها، وجعلها مناط الاحتجاج وعماد الاستدلال. وليس المقصود استيفاء جزئيات الكتاب على نسق ترتيبه، فإن ذلك تطويل لا يجدي، وإنما العناية متجهة إلى هذه الأصول والتقريرات، تمحيصا لها، وكشفا لما اعتراها من الفساد والاضطراب.
فإذا تبين ما فيها من خلل، لم ينهض ما تفرع عنها بحجة، ولا استقام على ساق، إذ كيف يستمسك بفرع أصله معلول، أو يحتج بنتيجة مبناها على مقدمات مختلة؟
وقد اعتمد في ذلك منهج التحليل والنقد، بعرض تلك التقريرات على أصول النظر العقلي وقواعد الاستدلال المقررة، مع الموازنة بين الدعوى ومستندها، وبيان ما يلزم عنها من التناقض أو الاضطراب. وذلك مع الالتزام بالإنصاف في النقل، وتحرير محل النزاع، وتحكيم البرهان حيثما قاد.
