الواقع أن باب الوقف والابتداء باب هام جداً يجب على قارئ القرآن الكريم أن يهتم به ، إذ هو دليل على فقهه وبصيرته ؛ لأن القارئ قد يقف أحياناً على ما يخل بالمعنى ، وهو لا يدرى. أو يبتدئ بما لا ينبغي الابتداء به. فإن كان ذا بصيرة ، فإنه لن يقف إلا على ما يتم به المعنى ، اللهم إلا إذا اضطر إلى غير ذلك ، فإن عليه حينئذٍ أن يعالج أمره بأن يرجع كلمة أو أكثر أى إلى موضع يجوز الابتداء به ، فيستأنف قراءته بادئاً به ، ومنتهياً بجملة تفيد معنى يجوز الوقوف عليه. ومثل ذلك قل أيضاً فى الابتداء.
