ومن أشهر الكتب التي عُنيت بجمع أخبار الصالحين وحكاياتهم كتاب العلّامة المؤرّخ الزاهد عفيف الدين اليافعي اليمني (ت٧٦٨هـ) المسمى: «روض الرياحين في حكايات الصالحين»، الذي جمع (٥٠٠) حكاية، ثم ذيّل عليه بتكملةٍ فيها حكايات الوليّ الشهير الشيخ عبد القادر الجيلاني رضيَ الله عنه.
وقد عُني بهذا الكتاب المبارك محققان تمرّسا في تحقيق هذا النوع من الكتب التراثية، هما الأستاذان: أديب الجادر وعدنان عبد ربه، فخدما الكتاب خدمةً حسَنة، وفهرساهُ فهارسَ وافية. وهذه أول طبعة محقَّقة تجمع بين الأصل والتكملة، والحمدُ لله الذي بنعمته تتم الصالحات.
