الجزء الأول ضمن سلسلة الكتب التي ينجزها كوكي في هذا السياق، ووجه التحية في مستهل كتابه إلى المجاهد "أبومحمود"، "الذي علمني قبل حمل السلاح كيف يكون القائد رحيمًا، حازما، وشجاعًا"، إلى غيرها من الصفات.
كما لم يغفل إبراهيم كوكي توجيه التحية إلى رفاق دربه من أهالي مدينة "حمورية" في الغوطة، "ممن عشت معهم أروع أيام حياتي، ممن سبقني منهم، ومن ينتظر".
وحاول الكاتب قبل أن يستطرد في مجموعته القصصية. طرح سؤال: لماذا نحارب؟ مجيبًا". لأن الآلاف من البشر قتلوا، على يد هذه العصابة التي غصبت الحكم في سوريا، ومارست بحق المسلمين منذ الانقلاب الأول أشد أنواع الأذى والتنكيل والقتل والتعذيب". لافتًا إلى أن "الحرب تأتي ثأرًا لمجازر حماة وتدمر والمشارقة ودمشق وحمص وبانياس، وغيرها من تلك المجار التي قتل فيها الآلاف من المسلمين على يد هذه العصابة الحاكمة.. نحارب لنقيم العدل في بلد غاب فيه العدل، وانتشر فيه الظلم والفساد، وصار ثمن القاضي بالليرة، والحكم بالدولار".
