الحياة المبكرة
وُلدت أثير النشمي في حزيران/يونيو 1984 في العاصمة السعودية الرياض وهناك تلقت تعليمها وتكوينها. عاشت رفقة أسرتها الصغيرة المكوّنة من والديها وأخٍ وحيد ثمّ أربع أخوات. تميزت أثير بثقافتها العالية وبأسلوبها الأدبي الفريد خاصّة في بعضٍ من رواياتها التي تتحدث عن معاني الصداقة والحب والعاطفة.

الموتُ يغتصبني كل ليلة، يزورني في اليوم أكثر من مرة، في كُل مرة يقترب فيها الموت مني، أترك جسدي له ولا أقاوم، فيعبث بروحي ويلهو بها، حتى يمل من اللهو بي ويتركني لميعاد جديد.
أفكر فيمن سيأتي ويُنقذني من معمعة الموت تلك، من سيقدر على أن يتعايش مع رائحة الموت التي تفوح من مساميّ الصغيرة، من سيتمكن من إلجامُ صوت الموت الصادح داخل رأسي، من سينتشلني من لجته التي تكاد تُجهزِ عليّ، الموتُ يغتصبني كل ليلة، يزورني في اليوم أكثر من مرة، في كُل مرة يقترب فيها الموت مني، أترك جسدي له ولا أقاوم، فيعبث بروحي ويلهو بها، حتى يمل من اللهو بي ويتركني لميعاد جديد.
