الكتاب يشرح الألفاظ المصطلح عليها فى الطريق مما لابد منه للسالك المسترشد، حتى إذا قرأ فى كتب الطريق يسهل عليه فهم معانى الألفاظ التى وضعوها لمعان إصلاحية بينهم. أما الألفاظ التى اصطلح عليها المواجهون لقدس الجبروت الأعلى أو لحضرة العزة، فمما لا يرسم فى كتاب، وإنما تفهم من أفواه العارفين: كالمجلس، والتأله، والاصطلام، والمواجهة، والمنازلة، والاتحاد، والطمس، والمحق، والأخفى، وغير ذلك مما يشيرون به إلى درجات القرب وحقيقة الحب، قال تعالى: ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜﯝ آل عمران: ١٦٣وقال سبحانه: ﰈ ﰉ ﰊ ﰋ ﰌ ﰍ ﰎ ﰏ ﰐﰑ المجادلة: ١١ وقال: ﮉ ﮌ ﮍ ﮎ الصافات: ١٦٤ وقال عليه الصلاة والسلام فى آخر الحديث الصحيح: Uلا يزال عبدى يتقرب إلىّ بالنوافل حتى أحبه، فإذا أحببته كنت سمعه الذى يسمع به، وبصره الذى يبصر به.. إلى آخر الحديث. وغير ذلك من الأحاديث الصحيحة أو الحسنة، مما يدل على علو مشاهد الرجال وعلىّ مقاماتهم رضى الله عنهم.
