• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

إن الدارس لتاريخ البشر يجد أن الصراع والخلاف قد لازمه منذ بدا الخلاف بين ابنى ادم فالحرب والإنسان متلازمان وللحرب أسبابها المتعددة التى تتراوح ما بين عقائديه تتمثل فى العقائد الدينية او المعتقدات الأيديولوجية يسعى البعض لفرض عقيدته أو أيديولوجيته على الغير وما الحرب إلا فرض إرادة يسعى لها الطرفان وفى النهاية يفرض المنتصر إرادته أو تكون الحرب سعيا لكسب مصالح مادية إضافية (كالسعى للسيطرة على منابع الثروات كالتوابل سابقا والعبيد لاحقا والنفط حاليا) أو حرصاً على مكتسبات موجودة يخشى زوالها أو تكون الحرب لمنع انتشار مد ثقافى معين كما تفعل أمريكا منذ سنوات ما بعد الحرب الكبرى لمنع انتشار المد الإسلامى فى الشرق الأوسط أو المد الشيوعى فى شرق آسيا .... الخ
