سماء خيل العرب وأنسابها وذكر فرسانها لأبي محمد الأعرابي الملقب بالأسود الغندجاني المتوفى بعد (430هـ) وهو غير (أسماء خيل العرب وفرسانها) لابن الأعرابي (ت 231هـ) أطول قائمة وصلتنا في التعريف بخيل العرب وفرسانها، ويضم (575) فرسا، ألحق بها المحقق (262) فرسا في مستدركات أثبتها في آخر كل حرف من حروف الكتاب فصار مجموع ما ضمه هذا الكتاب من الخيل (837) فرساً وهو اكبر رقم توصل إليه باحث في تاريخ الخيل العربية الأصيلة حتى إصدار الكتاب. رتب الغندجاني كتابه هذا على أسماء الخيل، معتمدا الحرف الأول فقط وأهمل الثاني، ومنهجه أن يذكر الفرس ويتبعه بتسمية فارسه، فإن كان الفرس قد أعقب فرسا أكثر منه شهرة اكتفى بتسميته، وسرد نسبه في ترجمة أكثر عقبه شهرة،
