قد كان لي من إقبال الأدباء على كتابي (بشار بن برد، شعره وأخباره) الذي أظهرته في هذا العام مشجعا لي على السير في طريقي، والعمل على أحياء من رفع الأدب والشعر قدرهم، وأنسانا توالي الأيام ذكرهم، فاخترت بعد بشار بن برد إبراهيم بن سهل الأندلسي ووشاحها، قرأت له ديوانا مطبوعا منذ عهد طويل، فأخذت على هذا الديوان. سوء الطباعة، ورداءة الورق، وتفشي الخطأ بشكل مريع، والنقص كبير.
