حين لوّحَت (هدى شعراوي) بنقابها عام 1919 للنّساء اللواتي احتشدن لإستقبالها في ميناء الإسكندرية، ورمته في البحر، لم تكن تدعو إلى مجرّد الثّورة على النّص بدافع تغيير الزّيّ فحسب، وإنّما كانت ترمي إلى أبعد من ذلك بكثير؛ لقد أرادت أن تضع عقل المرأة على سكّته الطّبيعيّة، كما خلقه الله تماماً، وأن تنقّي رؤيتها من شوائب التّابوهات، فتعرف كيف تصوغ قانوناً يتناسب مع روح أنوثتها الحقيقيّة، وليس فوق تطلّعات الخطاب حصراً الّتي كانت تراعي حقبة آفلة.
