تسب دراسة الأكاديمية الجزائرية د. مريم نريمان نومار “الدراما الاجتماعية والمرأة في الفضاء الافتراضي” أهميتها من إبرازها الهوية الافتراضية للمرأة الجزائرية في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، وتمثلها لذاتها وإدارتها للانطباع، وذلك في ظل غياب شبه تام لدراسات تتناول هذا الموضوع. وترى المؤلفة أن الفجوة بين الهوية الافتراضية والحقيقية باتت تميل إلى التلاشي، الأمر الذي يثير جدلا كبيرا حول العديد من القضايا الاجتماعية ومنها: عرض الذات، والخصوصية، والأمان وغيرها، إلى جانب الطروحات المهمة في مجال الجندر واستخدام التكنولوجيات الحديثة للإعلام والاتصال، والاهتمام بطبيعة الاستخدام وعلاقته بعدد من العوامل التي تحكم تصرفات المرأة وتؤثر في تمثلاتها لذاتها والصورة التي تحاول أن تقدمها عن نفسها، وكذلك الصورة التي يراها بها الآخر من مستخدمي هذه الشبكات. وجاء الكتاب الصادر عن “الآن ناشرون وموزعون” في الأردن في 214 صفحة من القطع الكبير، واختيرت لغلافه لوحة تعبيرية من أعمال الفنان الإسباني بابلو بيكاسو. وقدَّم الكتاب الدكتور نصرالدين لعياضي واصفًا الكتاب بأنه: “ثمرة جهد مضنٍ حاولت فيه الباحثة الاقتراب أكثر من المرأة الجزائرية وهي تسرد ذاتها في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي”. وأشار إلى أن “التوغل في سرد الأنثى الجزائرية لذاتها هو ولوج مملكة المسكوت عنه أكثر من التعبير عن المجهر به”.
