الحمد لله الذي شفاني من مرض السكتة الدماغية ومكنني الآن وأنا في الرابعة والتسعين من العمر بأن أملي هذا الكتاب على هدىً من التوكل عليقه سبحانه وتعالى ووهبني القدرة على التمييز بين الحق والباطل في تقرير هذه الغايات العليا التي أفضيت إلى التعبير بها عن التحريك الواغل في عروق قلبي المزلزِل لأركان وجودي بتلويح مصيبة الموت.
لذلك سميت هذا الكتاب باسم "الفانوس الأخير" وأديته بثلاث حلقات، وأوجزت في هذه الحلقة الأولى التي هي بين يدي القارئ ناصعة بليغة في مبانيها صريحة في معانيها وأغراضها كافية لما قصدت منها شافية لما زخر به صدري من غمرات أوجاع هذا القلب في همومي وغمومي.
