Book Description
الصاغاني، صاحب هذا الكتاب، هو الإمام رضي الدين أبو الفضائل بن محمد القرشي الصغاني اللاهوري. وقيل الصغاني نسبة إلى صغانيات من أعمال ما وراء النهر. ولد في مدينة "لاهور" من مدن الهند الكبيرة العامرة سنة 577هـ ونشأ بغزية وأخذ فيها عن أبيه القرآن والفقه، ودخل بغداد طلباً للعلم وهو في التاسعة عشرة من عمره، فروى عن كبار العلماء كالنظام محمد بن الحسن المرغيناني وسعيد بن الرزاز وغيرهما حتى انتهت إليه الرئاسة في اللغة والحديث.
له مصنفات كثيرة منها كتابة "يفعول" الذي هو بين يدي القارئ. وهو من تلك الكتب اللغوية التي تشمل على مادة لغوية خاصة لا تفارقها إلى غيرها، وهو من نوع الرسائل اللغوية التي وصلت إلينا مما أثر عن الأصمعي وأبي زيد الأنصاري وابن السكين وغيرهم. وكتاب "يفعول" من الآثار العربية التي اندثر الكثير ولم يبق منها إلا هذه البقية اليسيرة، ولعلها من أبنية الفعل القديمة التي تخففت في العربية التاريخية إلى "يُفعل" بضم العين. و"يفعُل" هذا قد تحول أيضاً إلى الاسمية وشاع وجوده في اللغات العربية الجنوبية. ومما هو جدير بالإشارة إليه أن "يفعول" كثير للذكر من أصناف الحيوان.
