يمكن للروائي أن يستحضر الماضي أو يستعيد التاريخ: حياً نابضاً، أو جثّة محنّطة، ويمكنه أن يجسّد حاضره: واقعاً متحرّكاً، أو صورة جامدة بحسب قدرته على التمثّل، والوعي، وامتلاك أدوات الإبداع!!
والرواية - العربية منذ بدأت حتى هذه اللحظة - لم تخرج عن هذين المجالين، أعني: كتابة الماضي، أو قراءة الحاضر!!
ولكن.. هل يمكن للرواية أن تستشرق المستقبل، أن تحدد ملامح (الغائب) الذي لم يأت بعد؟! وكيف يقدر الروائي أن يرسم أفق المستقبل؟
إن هذا الكتاب يسعى إلى إجابة هذين السؤالين عبر محاولتين، تتابع أولهما عالم غسان كنفاني الروائي؛ لتستجلي الملامح المستقبلية في رؤية أدبية، وتسعى الأخرى إلى الوقوف على بعد المستقبلي في رؤية عبد الرحمن منيف روائياً..
وقد حرصت القراءة التي نقدمها هنا على عدم التعامل مع الروايات بوصفها وثائق سياسية، أو اجتماعية، كما لم تنظر إليها، وكأنّها رموز وإشارات لا تحيل إلى الواقع!!
ولن أتنكر لما يختفي - أو يظهر- وراء هذه القراءة من موقف تكشف عنه زاوية الرصد، والتحليل، وما تقود إليه من أحكام.. ولكن الذي هو أن يلمح الجهد النقدي المبذول في قراءة لا تسقط قناعات مسبقة على النصوص، بل تدع لها أن تمارس حضورها باستنطاق ما هو مائل في أصل بينتها!!
