... لا تعتقد أني سوف أكتب مذكراتي، ولو أنها شيء رائج كثيراً هذه الأيام. لكن إياك أن تصدق ما يكتب كمذكرات إلا في ما ندر. فحياة الكاتب في معظم الأحيان تكون من جهة، وكتابته تسير في جهة أخرى.
لحظة قررت أن أكتب لك رسالة أحكي فيها ما حدث معي من طريف الحوادث شعرت بالحماس، وبدفق الحياة، لهذا فقد أسرعت الى المكتبة القريبة من المنزل أشتري دفتراً، فأنا لا أحب الكتابة على أوراق، وذلك نتيجة قفز أفكاري وأنا أحكي من فكرة الى اخرى، فأضيع في كومة الأوراق، ولا أعود أعرف أين هربت مني تلك الفكرة لأعود فأربطها من جديد.
فكر وأنت تقرأ، وشاركني في كتابتي كي تبقى صاحياً، فالقراءة لم توجد فقط للاسترخاء قرب الشاطئ، أو لتمضية الوقت، أو حتى للابتعاد عن الأرق.
