تستكمل هذه الرواية محكيّ ما سبقها في جزئيها الأول والثاني، وتتابع، على نحو غير مباشر، ومن خلال الشخصية الرئيسة فيها، تحولات المجتمع السوري حتى منتصف العقد الأول من هذا القرن الذي أرهص بغير عصف في أكثر من مكان، بما في ذلك، وربما قبل ذلك ، في هذا المجتمع نفسه الذي لم يكن لأحد أن يتوقع حدوثه مهما يمكن من أمر خصوبة المخيّلة التي وهبتها السماء له.
وعلى نحو غير المباشر أيضاً تمضي الرواية، في هذا الجزء الثالث منها، إلى فضاء إجتماعي يكاد يكون مفارقاً لمجتمع البطل على غير مستوى، هو أمريكا، وتستعيد بذلك ما أنجزته المغامرات الروائية العربية المبكرة من حديث عن وعي العربي بالآخر المختلف، أو عن علاقة الشرق بالغرب.
ومهما يكن صحيحاً ان الحدّ الزمني الذي تتوقف عنده لا يتجاوز النصف الأول من العقد الأول، فإنّها، ببراعة فائقة، ومن خلال مغامرة عالية في تشكيل المحكي وصوغه روائياً، أي من خلال شخصيتي قارئيّها اللذين أجازا نشرها، واللذين يتجليان بوصفهما شخصيتين مركزيتين في المحكي والدلالة معاً، تحفر عميقاً في الجرح النازف من الجسد السوري منذ ما يزيد على ثماني سنوات.
وإذا كان ثمّة ما يجب قوله في هذا المجال، فهو ما تنتهي به الرواية من نشيج يجمع بين رثائه لماض مرهق بالحزن وتوقه لمستقبل واعد بأكثر من حلم، أي ما اختار الروائي علامة له هي "سماء البكاء".
هذه الرواية ليست جديرة بالقراءة فحسب، بل، أيضاً، بعدّها وثيقة عن المجتمع السوريّ في العقود الأخيرة من تاريخه، فهي تجمع بين قيمتين بأن: بوصفها تخييلاً من جهة، وبوصفها تأريخاً من جهة ثانية.
