نجيب محفوظ: أشهر روائي عربي على الإطلاق، وهو أول عربي ينال جائزة نوبل للأدب، وأول عربي جسد الانتماء الحقيقي للحارات الشعبية، ومنها انطلق إلى العالمية، وفوق ذلك فهو متهم بأنه ملحد وقد أساء إلى الأديان السماوية في روايته (أولاد حارتنا) حسب ما يقوله متهموه.
لقد اعترف محفوظ في أكثر من مناسبة أنه مؤمن بالله وكتبه ورسله... وأنه يؤدي واجباته الدينة، وأنه لا يقصد في روايته أن يسيء إلى الدين، وإنما فسر الآخرون الرموز حسب مشيئتهم ورغبتهم، لقد أعلن ما يريد أن يقوله عبر هذه.
في هذه الدراسة، سنحاول أن تلم بعدة محاور في أدبه فانطلقنا قبل الدخول إلى أدبه إلى عرض مراحل حياته وظروف إبداعه وغيرها من الأمور التي تضيء معالمه الإبداعية. ومن ثم انطلقنا إلى محاور أدبه، فكانت (الحارة) أولاً: لأنها الأساس، ولأنها الوعاء الذي تدور فيه كل الأحداث والوقائع، ومن ثم انتقلنا إلى محور (الجنس) في أدبه، وبما أنه كان الجنس كرمز من الرموز السياسية فانطلقنا بعد ذلك إلى مناقشة رؤيته السياسية، وأكدنا أنها مصرية، ولكنها ليست متعصبة، إنما هي محلية كبرت بالحارة المصرية إلى حدود العالمية.
