ولأن الكتاب يقوم على دراسة الملامح السردية في النصوص الشعرية فقد أفادت المؤلفة من بعض المناهج الخاصة بالدراسات السردية كالمنهج الإنشائي، والمنهج الأسلوبي، والمنهج السينمائي.
وخلصت الدراسة إلى أن للملامح السردية حضوراً قوياً في نصوص الشاعرات الخليجيات، مما يدل دلالة كبيرة على أن الحدود الأجناسية بين الشعر والسرد آخذة في التلاشي، وأن ما كان يعد من خصائص الشعر يمكن أن يعد عضواً في جسد السرد، وما كان مَن صميم السرد يمكن أن يكون أيضاً من صميم نسيج الشعر.
