يتناول هذا الكتاب ( أفق يمتد ) قصائد شعرية متنوعة الإيقاع الموسيقي، فبعضها على نظام الشعر العربي الأصيل، وبعضها الآخر على نظام شعر التفعيلة الحديث، في مزيج جذاب شيق يستخدم فيه الجملة الشعرية وتدفقها في أسطر متعددة حتى لتكاد تشمل بنية القصيدة بكاملها مما يعطيها مدة في الإيقاع ووحدة في المضمون ووحدة في البناء.
وتنطلق حركة القصائد كلها في هذا الديوان من العناصر الأربعة، البوح، والواقع، والوظيفة، والخروج إلى المطلق والجمال، والتي يقود فيها الشاعر متلقيه ليسمعه آلامه وجراحه، وغربته الخارجية، واعترابه الداخلي وآماله، ليرسم له صوراً عدة من أجوائه العائلية، وحركته فيها وحركة الآخرين ما بين ( الطين ) الأرضي، و ( صفاء ) السماوي، بين طعنات للأعداء والأصدقاء معاً، والشاعر في ذلك عالي الكرامة، تخضع في قصائده رؤية جمالية للعالم والكون والوجود، تندفع إلى أرض الواقع الممتلئ بالظلم والقمع والقهر والدمار، وترتكز على الجمال في الفن والشعر في قصائد متنوعة الأهداف والأغراض تحلق فيها روح الشاعر إلى آفاق فسيحة تحقق بمشاعر الحنين إلى الوطن والمسجد الأقصى وآلام الاغتراب ورقة الوجدانيات.
