هذا الكتاب صفحات التفسير القيم للإمام محمد بن أبي بكر بن أيوب بن سعد بن حريز الزرعي الدمشقي شمس الدين بن قيم الجوزية الحنبلي المتوفي سنة 756 هجرية. والتفسير القيم نسيج وحده بين التفاسير المنتشرة والمعروفة، فهو من التفاسير الفريدة التي حوت كل علم وفقه وبلاغة، فقد تصدى الإمام ابن القيم في تفسيره هذا إلى المشكل من الآيات القرآنية الكريمة، فألقى عليها أضواء علمه ومعرفته وبلاغته، في الوقت الذي قصر غيره من العلماء في تفسيرها، ففسر تلك الآيات بالقرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية المطهرة وبذائقته البلاغية الواضحة وبحجج بينة لا يعتورها لبس ولا تشوبها شائبة، فجاء تفسيره واضحاً سهلاً مستساغ الفهم قريب الطلب.
والإمام ابن القيم وضع في خدمة كتاب الله تعالى كل ما حباه الله من علم ومعرفة وخلق فتصدى للتدريس والإمامة والتأليف عاملاً على تخليص عقائد المسلمين من كل شائبة فكان حرباً على البدع والشرك، داعياً إلى الإصلاح والتجديد، متصدياً للمشكلات الدينية والاجتماعية في وقته، فلاقى في سبيل ذلك ضروباً من التعسف والأذى.
