بعد خروج المقاومة الفلسطينية من لبنان سنة 1982 ابتدأت الصورة تتغير في المنطقة وبرز العامل الديني بديلاً عن الإخفاقات السياسية للقيادة الفلسطينية وحلفائها من اللبنانيين وكثر المصلون في الجوامع، وابتدأت "الإيشاربات" تغطي رؤوس بنات المنطقة وعادت العلاقات الاجتماعية إلى التزمت والتحفظ بين الشبان والشابات، وقد لعبت منظمات إسلامية عديدة أدواراً في هذا المجال لإعادة الروح إلى الوعي الديني الذي كان غائباً في المرحلة السابقة.
