إن وطناً كلبنان، المسرح فيه موجود بالضرورة، ما دامت الأحداث السياسية والاجتماعية في هذا البلد تطرح أسئلة من دون أجوبة.
"بنسيون الست نعيمة" عمل مسرحي يجسد لحظة تاريخية من حياة بيروت العاصمة يكتب أحدائها "أسامة العارف" يقدم فيه مقاربات لافتة عن الإصطفافات الطائفية في لبنان مستحضراً العوامل التي أججت الصراع، فيبدو أمامنا شاخصاً منعطفاً تاريخياً هاماً من تاريخ بلاده السياسي والإجتماعي، حيث تجري أحداث هذه المسرحية عشية وأثناء دخول الجيش الإسرائيلي إلى بيروت الغربية في أيلول العام 1982م.
حاء العمل باللهجة المحكية المحلية في لبنان، يحمل ما بين سطوره مرحلة من مراحل النضال الوطني كتبها الراوي بلهجة مبطنة وبحرفية عالية لكل ما يتطلبه هذا الجنس الأدبي من إتقان الأمر، الذي يترك فيه للقارئ وللمشاهد المسرحي حرية التأويل والترجمة بحسب الواقع الذي ينتمي إليه.
يقول الكاتب: "... على المسرح التفتيش عن زوايا دافئة في ضمائر الناس وقلوبهم وحتى عقولهم بعيداً عن كل تعقيدات الواقع؟ كلَ هذه الأسئلة ما تزال دون إجابة حتى الآن باعتبار أننا ما نزال في مرحلة انتقالية".
الجدير بالذكر أن هذه المسرحية عرضت على مسرح جاندارك بيروت للمرة الأولى في نيسان 1992م، وكانت من إخراج جلال خوري وتمثيل نخبة من الممثلين المسرحيين اللبنانيين.
