ويبقى الكتاب، وإن خص بدراسة الأسرة النكدية، من خلال الدور البارز الذي لعبته في الصراع المقاطعجي العام، أساساً في قراءة تاريخ معظم السر المقاطعجية المعاصرة للنكديين فضلاً عن قراءة التاريخ السياسي للإمارة الشهابية بشكل عام.
