يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن ديوان الحلاج , والحلاج هو الحسين بن منصور, أبو المغيث, ولد في بلاد فارس سنة ثلاث وأربعين ومائتين للهجرة. أشهر فلاسفة التصوف الإسلامي, ووحدة الوجود, أخذ علومه من علماء البصرة وبغداد, ودرس مذاهب الصوفية, حج إلى مكة ثلاث مرات, وعندما عاد تخفى, وعندما انكشف أمره, كفره كثيرون خاصة على مذهبه في الحلول والاتحاد وطريقته السرية بالتصوف. سجن وعذب وجلد, ومات مصلوباً على يد الخليفة المقتدر العباسي وأحرقت جثته في بغداد. اهتم المستشرقون بأعماله وآثاره . وهذا الكتاب يعرض ديوان الحلاج مرتباً أبابه حسب تسلسل الأحرف الأبجدية.
