في القصيدة التي تفتتح بها المجموعة (عاشقة) تقول الشاعرة: "عاشقة/ تنثر حنينها/ على ثرى الإنتظار/ تلهث خلف السراب/ كالجثث العطشى/ بشفاهٍ من أنين/ ترشف دمعها/ وحبر الأنين/ تعبث.. تترنح/ كتقاسيم الرياح الماجنة/ وحدها تعزف لحن الرغبة/ وحدها تنزف الماً وخضوع...".
