إن عملية "البناء الفكري" بجميع أبعاده وأسسه وقواعده يمثل الأرضية الصلبة لبناء الإنسان، ويتباين هذا البناء تبعاً للمدرسة الفكرية التي ينتمي إليها الأفراد والمجتمعات، وفي كل الأحوال لا يستطيع أحدنا أن يكون مؤمناً بمجموعة من الأفكار التي تشكل بمجموعها "الإطار الفكري" للشخصية، والذي من خلاله يستوحي "الإنسان" قناعاته وتصرفاته وسلوكه، بل وحتى فلسفته في الحياة.
وبنظرة متأملة إلى واقعنا المعاصر نجد أن كل الأديان والمذاهب والتيارات والمدارس الفكرية تسعى جاهدة إلى تقديم مناهجها الفكرية إلى أتباعها في عملية الهدف منها تنمية البعد الفكري لدى المنتمي إليها، مما يوحي بأهمية "البناء الفكري" كأساس لأي بناء شامل للشخصية والمجتمع والأمة ومن ثم الحضارة.
وهذا الكتاب ما هو إلا محاولة مخلصة لتوضيح بعض المفاهيم والأفكار والرؤى في البعد العقدي والتشريعي والميتافيزيقي بهدف تنمية "البناء الفكري" في المجتمع المسلم، وكذلك تعريف الأجيال الحاضرة والقادمة بالأصول الفكرية للإسلام، وتوضيح الأبعاد الفلسفية للفكر الإسلامي الأصيل، كما يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى بناء "وعي وقائي" يحمي الفرد من الإصابة بفقدان الثقة بالذات، واستعارة عقول الغير، ويحافظ في الوقت نفسه على الاعتداء بالنفس، والنهل من نبع التراث والأصالة، مع الاستفادة من روح العصر ومنجزاته الحضارية.
