عبرت لعنة الصمت متغلغلة في أضلعي، وكنت أظن أنها ما عا\ن متساكنني بعد أن استقالت وتركت زمام أمري بيد الجني، ولم يكن يرضيها أن تنجدني سامية ببعض المن والسلوى في زمن التيه والضياع".
في نوافذه التسعة يطل عاصم المصري على عالم حزين، حيث الفراغ والبطش. إذ يتلاشى العمر تحت أقدام الغزاة، وسجون الاعتقال وأماكن الحجر. هناك في فلسطين حيث يرسم المؤلف جغرافية الأحداث. وينتقل المؤلف عبر رقعة من الأرض التي تزدحم بمسارب الخوف والفجيعة والإنكسار. في أرض فلسطين حين يتحول الصمت إلى لعنة ويغدو الذي يتمردون على معتقلات صمتهم خلق القضبان.
أغلقت نافذة ذاتي ومضيت عبر ازدحام الأحزان أطل على فواجع الناس من فاجعة نفسي، التقطتني قافلة الصمت مجدداً من بين رمل الأحزان مفتقدة قدراتي: ... كيف لي قطع صلاتي وأوهام المغفرة تقرع باب تأملاتي؟ التبس علي الأمر عندما ولجت أزقة المدينة وقد اختلط التاريخ باللحظة، وأنا أشاهد سكان الحي وهم يفرغون على عجل ما أمكن من مقتنيات أعمارهم... قيدني العجز بأوتاد الذل والهوان، فسخر وجعي مني متخطياً حواجز ترددي.. أغوتني مفاتيح الصبح، كي توقظ روحي من وهن كسول، مخدر بما تعتق من هيبات، فقبلت وجنتي حكاية التحدي...
