يتناول المؤلف كتاب نهج البلاغة بالدراسة التي حصرها ضمن بحث عن تلوث جهات: 1-الإسناد، 2-التعقيبات، 3-الموافقات. وقد اشتمل الإسناد على أسانيد روايات نهج البلاغة في كتب أخرى من روايات أهل البيت عليهم السلام مرتبة على ترتيبها الوارد في نهج البلاغة من الخطب والرسائل.
التعقيبات وهي تعقيب المؤلف بما روي عن أهل البيت بعد الإمام علي رضي الله عنه الذين اعتزوا بآثاره وحافظوا على سيرته وعقب المؤلف ذلك بالمرافقات من المصادر من غير أهل البيت مكتفياً فيها بالإشارة إلى المصدر الذي وقف عليه.
وقد رتب المؤلف كتابه ضمن قسمين، الأول: في دراسة النهج وإلمامه بحياة الشريف الرضي، وشبهات وحلول حول جامع النهج والنص، مع الأسانيد إلى الجامع، والعناية بالنهج منذ عصر التأليف حتى العصر الحاضر، وشرح الخطبة. الثاني: ما وقف عليه المؤلف من أسانيد روايات النهج والخطب والرسائل والحكم.
