تناولت هذه الدراسة العلاقة بين الفكر السياسي لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي في فلسطين والتنمية السياسية فيها. وقامت بسرد ملخص للفكر السياسي الفلسطيني. ثم ناقشت تفاصيل إنشاء الحركة، ثم فكر الحركة، ومبادئها. ثم ناقشت علاقة الحركة بالآخر الديني والسياسي. فقد تناولت علاقة الحركة بالحركة الإسلامية بشكل عام، وجماعة الإخوان المسلمين، وحركة (حماس) بشكل خاص. ثم ناقشت علاقة الحركة بإيران، وموقفها من الشيعة؛ حيث تبين أن الحركة تربطها علاقة جيدة بإيران، وأنها تعدُّ الشيعة مسلمين، تمَّ الاختلاف معهم في الرأي فقط، ثم تناولت علاقة الحركة بمنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، ثم تناولت العلاقة مع الأنظمة العربية، وكيف تطوَّرت من تغليب الآيديولوجيا على السياسة، إلى تغليب السياسة على الآيديولوجيا؛ لحشد مزيد من الدعم والتأييد للعمل الجهادي. ثم تناولت برنامج الحركة التربوي، ثم تعرَّضت لموقف الحركة من المرأة، والذي جاء متماشياً مع عملية الحشد في مطالبته للمرأة بأخذ دورها في الجهاد، والعمل من أجل التحرير. ثـم تـحدَّثت عـــن رؤيـــة الـحركـــة للصــراع، وكيـف عدَّتــه صـــراعاً حضــاريـاً شـاملاً، له جوانبه، العقائدية، والثقافية، والسياسية، والاستراتيجية. الجهاد في اللغة والاصطلاح، حكم الجهاد، المقاومة، الإرهاب، حركة الانشقاق داخل الجهاد الإسلامي، أسباب التراجع وعدم الانتشار الواسع، فكر الحركة، ومبادئها، وأهدافها، ووسائلها لتحقيق الأهداف، التربية عند حركة الجهاد الإسلامي، رؤية الحركة لطبيعة الصراع، وفلسفتها في إدارته، حركة الجهاد الإسلامي واليهود، مركزية القضية الفلسطينية عند الحركة، خيارات المواجهة: الكفاح المسلَّح هو البديل.
