اعلم أخي المسلم أن الجنة هي دار المتقين، دار الذين أنعم الله عليهم من النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين، دار جنانها تجري من تحتها الأنهار، دار قصورها لبنة من ذهب ولبنة من فضة، طينها المسك الأذفر، وحصباؤها اللؤلؤ والياقوت، وتربتها الزعفران، وخيامها اللؤلؤ المجوف.
هي -والله- نور يتلألأ، وريحانة تهتز، ونهر مطرد، وفاكهة، وخضرة، وزوجات حسان. فيها العباد المنعمون، وفيها الجمال المبين، والحور العين، فيها النعيم الدائم، بل كل شيء باسم، فيها يرفع الحجاب فينظر الفائزون إلى وجه العزيز الوهاب، فيها ما لا عين رأت ولا أذن سمعت ولا خطر على قلب بشر.
بشّر بهذا كله: نبي الخير والهدى والنور، محمد بن عبد الله، عليه أفضل الصلاة وأتم التسليم، بوحي من ربه العظيم المتعال. وقد صنف أهل العلم قديماً وحديثاً مصنفات عديدة، ورسائل شتى، في ذكر الجنة، ونعيمها، وصفة أهلها.
وما يميز هذه الرسالة عن غيرها مما ألف في موضوع الجنة هو أنها قد جاءت لتلخيص ما كتبه أهل العلم في هذا الموضوع، منتقية أصح ما دون، ومضيفة مباحث أخرى لا يستغنى عنها المسلم، ومما تم الحديث عنه في هذا المجال نذكر: آيات بينات في وصف الجنات، صفة الزمرة الأولى من داخلي الجنة، أبواب الجنة، منازل الجنة ودرجاتها، غرف الجنة وأنهارها وقصورها، خيام الجنة وجنانها وترتبها، أقل أهل الجنة منزلة وأعلاهم... الخ.
