في هذا الكتاب إيناس بضعف حديث "معاذ" لما ارسله رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى اليمين، وهذا الحديث قد إشتهر ذكره، وعمَ الإستدلال به، وإختلفت أنظار أهل العلم وطلبته فيه قديماً وحديثاً: فمنهم من صححه، ومنهم من ضعَفه، ومنهم من أورده دون ذكر شيء فيه.
ولقد تكلَم على هذا الحديث طويلاً الشيخ أبو عبد الرحمن الألباني في كتابه الفريد "سلسلة الأحاديث الضعيفة" جازماً بضعفه، راداً أقوال من صحَحه، ناقضاً أدلتهم!
فرأى الكاتب أن يبحث ويسجل كل ما يتعلق بهذا الحديث، وينشر ما وقف عليه، مرتباً، محققاً، مدروساً –حتى يستفيد منه المسلمون جميعاً. وجعل هذا الجزء مقسَماً إلى ثلاثة فصول:
الأول: تخريج الحديث، والكلام على إسناده.
الثاني: الردَ على شبهات المخالفين.
الثالث: مناقشة معناه دراية.
وقد تخلل ذلك، أبحاث علميَة نافعة، وتحقيقات حديثية ماتعة، إستقاها الكاتب من كلام العلماء الماضين، الأئمة السابقين.
