"النور المنجي من الظلام" هو شرح على حاشية مسلك الأفهام للشيخ محمّد بن أبي جمهور الأحسائيّ، ويدور حول "التوحيد" و"الأفعال"، وهو في مضمونه موسوعة عقائديّة فلسفيّة عرفانيّة، حاول المصنّف من خلالها أن يقدّم للمعرفة الإنسانيّة منهجاً مبتكراً في طرح الآراء العقائديّة المتنوعة، حيث ذهب في منهجه إلى التطبيق والتأليف بين ثلاثة مناهج، بدلاً من الإنحياز إلى إحداها.
وتلك المناهج هي الشريعة والحقيقة والطريقة، وبعبارة أخرى لتلك المناهج الثلاثة: الوحي (القرآن والسنّة) والعقل (البرهان) والكشف والشهود الباطنيّ (العرفان)، فقد توصّل من خلال بحثه إلى نتيجة مؤدّاها أنّ هذه المناهج الثلاثة ما هي إلاّ "أسماء مترادفة صادقة على حقيقة واحدة هي حقيقة الشرع المحمدّي".
جاء الكتاب في جزءين واشتمل فصول ومباحث عديدة منها: الهيكل العام لعلم الكلام، وظهور علم الكلام، وأهم المدارس والمذاهب الكلامية: المعتزلة، الأشاعرة، الإمامية...، بعد ذلك، تسليط الضوء على الأوضاع السياسية والثقافية في القرن التاسع الهجري، وذكر للنور المنجي في مؤلفات المتأخرين، وجولة حول أفكار ابن أبي جمهور والاحسائي، بعد ذلك يتطرق الكتاب الى تفسير معاني التوحيد والأفعال مثل: معنى الافاضة، تفسير الحمد لواجب الوجود، معنى الخير، ذكر الغايات في الكتاب العزيز... ومقامات الأقيسة الموصلة الى المطالب، و"الكلام" هو علم أصول الدين وأفضليته على سائر العلوم، وأقسام الوحدة، وأقسام الكثرة، والعلة الصورية والعلة الفائية، وجواز الشفاعة وأقسام أفعال الخلق الى آخر ذلك مما تحتويه هذه الموسوعة الفلسفية - الدينية - والعرفانية لدى مذاهب مختلفة في الطريقة ولكنها تجتمع على حقيقة الشرع المحمدي.
