يعتبر المؤلف هذا الكتاب جزءاً من سلسلة عامة، ترمي إلى فهم القرآن، بمعانيه الأصلية التي كانت معهودة في كلام العرب زمن التنزيل على قلب محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وذلك من خلال اتباع منهج أودعه الله تعالى في القرآن العظيم وأدخره للمسلمين إلى مرحلة متأخرة من حياتهم. تمكنهم من المقاربة بين المذاهب الإسلامية المختلفة، وتمهد لهم طريق العودة إلى إسلام ما قبل التمذهب الذي كان عليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وصحابته الكرام.
وهو في الوقت ذاته دعوة لأهل الكتاب للعمل معاً بالوصايا الواردة في السبع من المثاني الذي أوتيه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في القرآن العظيم تخفيفاً على النفس البشرية من أعباد عدد من التكاليف الواردة في الوصايا العشر التي أنزلت على موسى عليه السلام.
إن مبادئ التوحيد والأخلاق الحكيمة التي تضمنتها المثاني السبع في القرآن العظيم هي القاسم المشترك بين أتباع الشرائع الإلهية المنزلة.فهي تأتي على رأس جدول الأعمال الجديد الذي يملك العرب - خاصة- والمسلمون –عامة – طرحه من منطلقات حضارية أمام شعوب الأرض في ندوات الحوار المفتوح بين الحضارات والثقافات في عصر العولمة ليكون دستوراً موحداً يضمن العمل به لهذه الشعوب العيش بسلام في عالم سيطرت فيه قوى الشر الطغيان.
