"أأبدأ معك أم بالغروب لا أدري، بأي مطرح من مطارح الشمس أبدأ... إذا كان الإجهاض هو إفراغ الرحم مما يحتويه فماذا يسمى إفراغ الذاكرة؟؟ وهل يسلى رحم المرأة، ما كان في أحشائه يومأً، هل تنسى المرأة نبضات جنينها وتحركاته، هل تنسى أحاسيسها يوم كانت معبأة به، مملوءة به، سكرى به، يوم كانت هو...، لا أدري كيف أبدأ ومن أين، فبين البداية والنهاية، أنت وما كنته، وأنا ما أصبحته، بين البداية والنهاية، وطن ذكريات وذاكرة... وكيف لي أن أعرف في أي وقت يبدأ اليوم، وأي أرض هي أول الكرة الأرضية...، أخالني سأمزق ذاكرتي انتقاماً منك، أغار لأنك تملأها أكثر مني، لأنها تحتويك وتنساني، لأنها تحتفظ بكل لحظاتك، سأقترف جرماً بحق الذاكرة، مع سابق تصور وتصميم، من أين أبدأ، أمن المنفى أن من ذكريات الوطن، أمن المعتقل أم من النضال قبله، ناضلت طويلاً من أجل عينيك، زمن وهما قضيتي، زمن كانت أيامه ليال، ولياليه تحدي انكسار، زمن أردت فيه ولوج الضوء، فأحرقتني تحفظاتك، وانكاراتك، وحيرتك... زمن تقت خلاله إلى السلام، فكنت كما العالم العربي مع من لا يعرف للسلام معنى حتى مع ذاته... ناضلت كي أكون أسيرة، فاعتقلتني حريتي، كالواقف في وسط البحر، ويريد جمعه بيد واحدة، هكذا أنا أحاول جمع ذكرياتي، أريد احتواء كل اللحظات التي عشتك فيها، أنا لا أذكر كيف عرفتك، ومتى وفي أية ظروف، أعرف فقط أنني هجرتك، بعد أن حبلت بك ذاكرتي، وأن هناك دعوى إجهاض قائمة، أعرف فقط أنني هجرتك، وبدل أن تصبح وطني وأربح النضال، أصبحت غربتك وخسرتني".
