قال تعالى: "وأن الساعة آتية لا ريب فيها وأن الله يبعث من في القبور"، وقال تعالى: "ما خلقنا السموات والأرض وما بينهما إلا بالحق وإن الساعة لآتية، فاصفح الصفح الجميل".وقال تعالى: "يسئلك الناس عن الساعة، قل إنما علمها عند الله، وما يدريك لعل الساعة تكون قريبا". وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم عندما سأله جبريل عن الساعة: "ما المسئول عنها بأعلم من السائل".
وأخبر الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم عن علامات، لا يمكن أن تقوم الساعة حتى تظهر هذه العلامات منها صغرى ومنها كبرى، أما علامات الساعة الصغرى: فهي الفتن التي تؤثر على قوم من أهل الأرض في زمن محدود، فينتهي بتأثيرها مع الزمن. ومعظم هذه العلامات يدور حول فساد الناس في آخر الزمان وظهور الفتن بينهم وبعدهم عن هدى الله وطريق الرسل. وعلامات الساعة الكبرى: هي الفتن التي لها أثر كبير عام يعم الأرض كلها. وقد ورد في بعض الأخبار الصحيحة عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ذكر عشر من علامات الساعة الكبرى.
عن هذه العلامات تحدث الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا حيث جمع أغلب الأحاديث الصحيحة التي جاءت حول هذا الموضوع شارحاً متن كل حديث بأسلوب سهل مبسط، فتحدث بداية عن علامات الساعة الصغرى مميزاً بين العلامات التي ظهرت والتي لم تظهر بعد من ثم تحدث عن علامات الساعة الكبرى، بنوعيها، التي ستكون مؤشراً لاقتراب الساعة، والتي سترافق قيام الساعة، وفي مرحلة لاحقة تحدث الكتاب عن أحداث يوم القيامة، بكل ما فيه، منذ بداية النفخ بالصور "النفخة الأولى" إلى أن يدخل الناس، إما إلى الجنة، وإما إلى النار.
